Compared the demand for 5 IT certifications that are relevant to programming and system management using Keyword Planner and Google Trends. I hope this helps with coding learning.
Decided to compare several major IT certifications using Keyword Planner and Google Trends.
The certification targets for comparison and corresponding search volumes are as follows.
| Exam Name | Search Volume (Japan) |
|---|---|
| Web Design Skills Certification | 1K โ 10K |
| Web Design Certification | 100 โ 1K |
| IT Passport Exam | 1K โ 10K |
| IT Passport | 10K โ 100K |
| Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination | 10K โ 100K |
| Fundamental Information Technology Engineer | 10K โ 100K |
| LPIC | 10K โ 100K |
| Microsoft Office Specialist | 1K โ 10K |
| IELTS | 10K โ 100K |
IELTS is not an IT certification, but itโs the highest priority certification if you want to work overseas. I added it to the list thinking it would be useful for comparison with famous certifications from other fields.
Many people may not be familiar with LPIC and Microsoft Office Specialist. Both of these are certifications that hold quite important positions overseas. The latter certification is known as โMOSโ overseas.
Now, from the results, we can confirm that Web Design Certification and Microsoft Office Specialist have lower demand compared to others. Next is the Google Trends survey.

As a result, IT Passport and Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination were overwhelming. Conversely, Web Design Skills Certification had almost no recognition unexpectedly. Since I entered from web development when I started programming, Iโve been familiar with this certification for quite a while. It was unexpected that this national certification had such recognition.
Next, letโs try again with some replacements.

Microsoft Office Specialist is indeed low.
