We’ll introduce Google Web Fonts that can be used for Japanese as well as English and alphabets, along with usage instructions.

Personally, I found these two to be great. Well, there aren’t many options… I think they have good personality.

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/earlyaccess/nikukyu.css" rel="stylesheet" />
<!-- "Nikukyu" -->
<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/earlyaccess/nicomoji.css" rel="stylesheet" />
<!-- "Nico Moji" -->

  • [japanese web fonts - Google Search](https://www.google.co.jp/search?q=japanese+web+fonts&oq=japanese+web+&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0j69i65j0l3.6757j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8)

When using them, add it to the element's style like font-family: "Nico Moji";.

A small note: you need to write it with double quotes like “Nico Moji” instead of just Nico Moji. Some font names don’t require quotes, so it can be a bit confusing if you’re not used to it.

Japanese fonts may only apply to Japanese text, so for such fonts, it’s better to also apply some font for alphabets. When you want to apply multiple fonts like this,

write them separated by , like font-family: fantasy,“Nikukyu”;.
